After playing just three game for the Phoenix Suns following a blockbuster trade, there’s a chance that Kevin Durant will miss the remainder of the team’s regular season games and potentially the start of the playoffs after sustaining an ankle sprain during warmups.
Kevin Durant was scratched from the Phoenix Suns starting lineup on Wednesday night in what was supposed to be his home debut with the team after he slipped while attempting a layup during warmups. But according to a report from the Arizona Republic, that injury could be quite severe and keep him out for the remainder of the regular season.
“The Arizona Republic has learned that there is concern within the organization that Durant has a grade 2 sprain, which would keep him out for between four and six weeks,” Greg Moore wrote for the Arizona Republic. “Phoenix’s regular season finale is April 9, meaning it’s possible Durant could miss the remainder of the regular season and potentially the start of the playoffs.”
It’s a shocking update to the health of Durant, and the NBA world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

This is the second injury of the season that has sidelined Durant after he just returned to the court on March 1 after suffering a knee injury in early January that caused him to miss 20 games.
