NBA star Ja Morant has surfaced in another video appearing to show a gun, only two months after the NBA suspended him for a similar offense.
An Instagram Live video posted Saturday shows Morant in a friend’s car with music playing, having a good time, when he appears to flash a real gun.
It’s strikingly similar to a video from March, which showed the Memphis Grizzlies All-Star displaying a firearm while at a Denver-area nightclub.
Morant earned the wrath of the NBA world for that incident in March. He stepped away from the team, saying “I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver turned Morant’s self-imposed time off into an eight-game suspension, saying in a statement, “Ja’s conduct was irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous.”
Now comes this incident, just a couple of days short of the two-month anniversary of Morant’s suspension being announced.
Morant’s latest action stunned NBA fans, especially coming so soon after his suspension for the same offense. Some fans pointed out it might be a fake gun, but even if true that’s still a terrible decision on his part.
Warning: The video contains NSFW language.
Nothing says “I’ve learned my lesson” quite like doing the exact thing that got you suspended in the first place https://t.co/6LmBLU5Iux
