Earlier this week, Draymond Green made waves throughout the NBA world when reports surfaced that he had “forcefully struck” Golden State Warriors teammate Jordan Poole during an altercation at practice. Then things got worse on Friday when a video of the incident leaked to the masses. After days of silence, Green has finally addressed the fight.
Following the backlash from the altercation, Green met with the media on Saturday afternoon and issued an apology to Poole and others who were affected by the incident.
“There’s a huge embarrassment that comes with [this],” Green said on Saturday, according to ESPN. “Not only for myself, as I was the one who committed the action … but the embarrassment that Jordan has to deal with and that this team has to deal with, this organization has to deal with. But also Jordan’s family. His family saw that video. His mother, his father saw that video. If my mother saw that video, I know how my mother would feel.”
The NBA world had plenty to say about Green’s apology, with many finding his words humorous.

Green also revealed that he apologized to Poole and his family privately and that he will be taking a few days away from the team after the incident.
