Danilo Gallinari set an Atlanta Hawks franchise record for three-pointers made, and he didn’t even start the game.
The 12th-year NBA veteran scored 38 points in 33 minutes off the bench, nailing 13-of-16 shots from the field and 10-of-12 shots from behind the arc in Atlanta’s 127-112 win over the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night.
The 10 three-pointers made are a Hawks franchise record, breaking the previous record of nine three-pointers made (Steve Smith in 1997). He started out 7-of-7 on triples and had 24 points in the first half.
Gallinari is just the third player in NBA history to make 10 three-pointers off the bench, joining J.R. Smith (who did it twice) and Donyell Marshall.
Making 10 threes in an NBA game is incredible. Making 10 threes off the bench is *really* incredible. And making 10 threes while just missing twice (good for an 83.3%)? That’s absolutely ridiculous.
What a shooting performance by Gallo.
