By now you probably all have seen the video of Charles Barkley dragging the New Orleans Pelicans after their loss in the NBA Playoffs to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Barkley felt that once the series was over (as it now is) instead of sending the Pelicans to Cancun, they should go to Galveston, Texas instead.
“We’re gonna send them to Galveston, where that dirty a** water wash up on the shore, and people think they at the beach,” Barkley said.
The whole “Inside the NBA” set, especially Shaq, laughed hysterically at the comments.
Barkley would later try to come back and apologize especially to Tina Knowles, the mother of superstar Beyonce’ whose family is from the area.
Knowles said “Chuck, we don’t play about Galveston Texas,” she posted on Instagram. “You better watch it sucker! Our water might not be blue, but it is still the beach and we love it!”
“I don’t want that smoke,” Barkley said. “I don’t want the Beyhive and Jay after me.”

But the damage has been done and most sports fans on social media not only laughed at Barkley’s comments but agreed with him.
Even the Galveston beach had something to say about Barkley’s comments.
While most fans got a few laughs out of the comments, not everyone was happy with Barkley, especially Pels fans who thought he went too far.
Barkley has been known to make controversial and sometimes very funny comments which most NBA fans are used to by now, but there will always be those who will be offended by anything the former NBA star says.
