Boston Celtics guard Kemba Walker was taken off the court on a stretcher after suffering a head injury on Friday night against the Denver Nuggets at Pepsi Center. The injury happened in the second quarter, when Walker ran headfirst into teammate Semi Ojeleye.
It was originally reported as a neck injury, but the Celtics say he has concussion-like symptoms and has been transported to a local Denver hospital for further evaluation.
Walker has had a terrific first season with the Celtics (11-3), averaging 22.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game after signing a four-year, $141 million contract over the offseason.
