The WNBA is set to tip off on May 8 after the WNBA and WNBAPA finally agreed to terms on a new collective bargaining agreement. Fans are eager to see Indiana Fever point guard Caitlin Clark take the floor again, but in the meantime, the sharpshooter has been dipping her toes in the media world.
Clark appeared on NBC’s Sunday Night Basketball broadcast earlier as a special contributor for a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks. On Wednesday, she worked a game between the Lakers and the Indiana Pacers as a photographer, and on Sunday, she returned to NBC’s Sunday Night Basketball broadcast, once again as a special contributor.
During her appearance, Clark revealed who she feels is the best player in the NBA.
I mean, there’s not many people that average a triple-double,” she said of Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic.
“He’s done it all year long and back-to-back years, so it’s pretty incredible. And honestly, he’s probably my favorite player to watch, and I think he’s the best player in the world.”
Family ties?
For his part, Jokic thinks Clark’s shoutout is more due to some shared representation.
“We have the same agent,” Jokic said with a laugh in his post-game presser on Sunday night. “That’s why she said that.”
Regardless of any ulterior reasons they may have for promoting one another, it’s undeniable that they’re two of the best players in the world. Hopefully, we’ll get to see them both play for many years to come.
