Megastar Kevin Durant shocked the NBA world when he requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets back in June. And while the Nets still have not found a trade partner over a month later, Durant reiterated his trade demand to Nets team owner Joe Tsai unless certain demands are met.
Durant reportedly met with Tsai over the weekend and told the Nets owner that he must choose between Durant or the pairing of general manager Sean Marks and head coach Steve Nash. If Tsai does not meet those demands, Durant wants to be traded.
Tsai seemed to make his stance on the situation very clear on Monday night. The Brooklyn team owner Tweeted his support for the front office and the coaching staff.
“Our front office and coaching staff have my support,” Tsai said on Twitter. “We will make decisions in the best interest of the Brooklyn Nets.”
Tsai’s Tweet seems to suggest that the Nets have no interest in making changes to the front office or coaching staff. If this is true, Durant will still be seeking a trade from the team. However, the Nets have not found a trade partner and teams are losing interest in trading for the former MVP.
Things could be getting interesting in Brooklyn as we near the start of another NBA season.
