At 34 years old (35 in April), Brook Lopez is having his best NBA season as a shot-blocker. And he took things to a completely different level on Thursday night in a 118-113 Milwaukee Bucks win over the Brooklyn Nets.
Lopez blocked a ridiculous nine shots, good for a career-high. His ninth block secured the win for Milwaukee.
The 7’1″ center also scored 24 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. He becomes the first player in NBA history to have nine blocks and make three three-pointers in the same game.
The 24-point, 10-rebound, nine-block stat line hasn’t been done in the NBA since Hassan Whiteside did so in 2018.
And the nine blocks are the most by a Bucks player since Larry Sanders had 10 blocks on Nov. 30, 2012.
Thursday night marks the sixth time this season that Lopez has blocked at least six shots.

The nine-block, near-triple-double performance is the highlight of a terrific season so far for Lopez. The 14-year veteran is averaging 15.2 points (his best mark since the 2016-17 season), 6.6 rebounds (his best mark since 2015-16), and a career-best 2.5 blocks per game.
Lopez has been a huge reason why the Bucks have won 19 of their last 20 games and have an NBA-best 48-18 record.
