New evidence has surfaced that the police were investigating Ja Morant as far back as September of last year. According to reports, Morant and his family got into it with a high school student last year.

Germantown Police, which is a suburb of Memphis, said the incident took place at Houston High School on the night of September 22nd.

The police report said at an after-school volleyball game, Morant’s sister, who attends Houston High School, got into a verbal confrontation with another student.

Witnesses on the scene told officers both parties had called each other the  “B” word prompting Morant’s sister to contact her brother about it.

Shortly after, Morant’s family showed up to confront the student including Morant’s mother Jamie, who the cops later said that she “can not come upstairs and confront the students and they did not need to make a scene at the school.”

From the looks of the report, Morant’s family was more involved in this incident than he was. Threats were made by both sides and the parents of the other student involved wanted to press charges for intimidation and harassment but nothing came of it from either side.

But the head of security for the Grizzlies did meet with the police and the principal of the school who issued a warning to both sides involved.
