It’s safe to say that Aaron Judge is seeing the ball well in the early going of the 2020 MLB season. The New York Yankees’ slugger entered Sunday night’s game against the Boston Red Sox with home runs in four consecutive games, and proceeded to keep up the dinger-mashing to lead the Yankees to a 9-7 victory.
Judge made it five homers in five games when he hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the second to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead.
But he wasn’t done. With the game tied 7-7 in the bottom of the eighth, Judge cranked a 468-foot go-ahead blast that would serve as the game-winner.
ESPN’s Matt Vasgersian certainly enjoyed both home runs.
Judge now has six homers, 14 runs batted in, a .903 slugging percentage, and a 1.275 OPS. In a 60-game season as part of a team that may end up with the best record in MLB (Yankees are 7-1), Judge is looking like an excellent AL MVP candidate.
