Tim Tebow is still trying to give baseball a shot, and things are going pretty much exactly as expected by scouts and respected baseball evaluators.
The former NFL quarterback and Heisman winner currently has a rough .228/.324/.345 slash line to go with a 28.0 strikeout percentage, as a 29-year-old in A-ball for the Columbus Fireflies (Mets’ affiliate).
On Saturday night, Tebow had an at-bat that actually got our attention, but for the wrong reasons.
Tebow swung and missed at a pitch, and his bat went flying into the second deck. Hitters frequently lose control of the bat, but I can’t remember seeing bat go this far into the stands:
Pine tar is your friend, Tim. Thankfully no one in the crowd was injured.
Oh, and the at-bat finished with Tebow striking out. The good news is Tebow still has his job as an analyst for ESPN and the SEC Network to fall back on.
