While Shohei Ohtani is still trying to get it going on the pitching side of things, the two-way sensation has hit incredible home runs in consecutive days as a hitter.
With the Los Angeles Angels trailing the Seattle Mariners 8-2 in the bottom of the ninth on Thursday night in Anaheim, Mariners reliever
Dan Altavilla threw a 99 mph fastball on the inside corner. It would be difficult for a hitter to do *anything* with this pitch, and Ohtani hit it 402 feet over the left-center field wall for a three-run homer.
An inside-out swing on a 99 mph fastball on his hands, and he hit it 402 feet with an exit velocity of 105 mph. That’s truly incredible hitting by the 26-year-old.
On Wednesday night, Ohtani golfed an 81 mph breaking ball and hit it over the right-center field wall for a three-run homer. This one was also 402 feet.
How is he doing this? It certainly takes a ton of strength and remarkable hands, at least.
