The Seattle Mariners took on the San Diego Padres on Tuesday night, and fans took notice of one excellent catch from Mariners star outfielder Julio Rodriguez, who tried his best to trick the fans and broadcasters alike.
It was a low-scoring affair early in the game, as both teams entered the fourth inning in a 0-0 tie. But Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. did his very best to change that.
Tatis came up to the plate in the top of the fourth inning and hit a deep flyball to center field that looked like a sure home run. Rodriguez ran back to the center field wall and jumped to try and make a miraculous play.
At first, fans and broadcasters alike thought that Rodriguez had failed to make the play, as Rodriguez began to walk non-chalantly back from the wall.
He then revealed the ball in his glove with a big smirk on his face, and it is pretty safe to say that Mariners fans in attendance were pleasantly surprised.
Tatis was amongst the many surprised that he indeed caught the ball, as he had already begun his home run trot around the bases.
Fans at home took notice of Rodriguez’s great catch along with his tricks after the catch, and thought it was quite funny.
Rodriguez has always been seen as a true five-tool player throughout his two-year MLB career, but he has also seemingly been working on his acting skills.
