Nick Castellanos reminded Philly why he was there.
After going 3-for-3 with two home runs to lift the Phillies over the Atlanta Braves on Thursday to send the team to the NLCS, he owned the stage. But so did his son, Liam.
Just look at his reaction when his dad did Nick Castellanos-like things:
Castellanos makes sure to find Liam in the crowd. Especially after his second, multi-home run game in a row.
“Just looked at me with an excited face and said, “‘Let’s go!'”
Castellanos became the first player in postseason history to have back-to-back games with multiple home runs after his two homers in the Phillies’ 3-1 win over the Braves in Game 4 of the NLDS.
The party started when the game was over, and Liam was involved, of course as the team went across the street to the postgame celebrations where fans were.
“So the last conversation I had with [Liam] was on the field, and he ran up to me and gave me a hug, and then I asked him if he wanted to go to Xfinity,” Castellanos said. “And he said, ‘Yeah!'”
Liam has become a bit of a celebrity as of late. Castellanos is just happy to have him a part of it all.
“It’s cool,” Castellanos said. “You know, this is what I do for a living. Baseball is my job, and it takes me away from him more than I would like it to. So to be able to — for him to be able to come and be next to me and be a part of this, I mean he’s been at the house when I’ve sucked. He’s been at the house when I’ve done well. He’s been at the house during so many different times of my career throughout his life. So for him to be able to be next to me and witness all of it, I think, is good for his maturation in the future. So as close as I can keep him to me, you know, is always going to make me happier.”
