If you watched much baseball last season, you probably know all about the Bryzzo Souvenir Company.
That’s thanks to this commercial, which ran most of the season, and either delighted you every time or annoyed the hell out of you after the fifth airing.
As you might remember, the Cubs won the World Series, and that means one thing for Bryzzo: expansion.
Here’s the new commercial that will likely be just as (if not more) ubiquitous this season:
Okay, that’s objectively funny.
Incorporating more of the team is great, and fitting given the Cubs generally good-natured approach to each other. Kyle Schwarber remains a welcome presence, and his “Finally!” is a nice nod to his October return.
“Bryzzobrist” is great wordplay. Eddie Vedder is only there in a small dose, which is nice.
And, perhaps best of all, the David Ross cameo at the end. He has good comedic timing! David Ross, Character Actor is something I really want to see now.
This commercial really could be the first step towards America hating the Cubs, especially since they’re likely to be very good again, and remain very good for a long time. There’s a decent chance of an eventual backlash.
But hey, that’s what happens. For now, at least the commercials are still funny.
how can anyone hate this team?
