Throughout the Philadelphia Phillies World Series run, one of their most prominent supporters was Dr. Jill Biden, First Lady of the United States. However, Phillies legend Lenny Dykstra believes that Biden may have the reason that the Phillies ultimately came up short to the Houston Astros in the World Series.
Dykstra took to social media on Sunday, posting a picture of Biden with the caption “Since the doctor showed up, the Phillies went 0-3 with 9 total hits. #TheCooler”.
It’s unclear exactly why Dykstra decided to put the blame on Biden for the Phillies’ loss.
On paper, Phillies fans should be happy that they even made it to the World Series, coming into the series as sizable underdogs to win the series after just making the playoffs as a Wild Card team.
The former Phillies outfielder was notably a part of Philadelphia’s 1993 World Series appearance, and maybe he just wants someone to blame for the team’s recent shortcomings.
Dykstra appears to have some lasting ties to Philadelphia after eight seasons with the organization and clearly appears to be frustrated with the team’s result this season.
Most Phillies fans are likely proud of the team’s performance this postseason and are excited for the team to try and make another run at it next season.
Lenny Dykstra decided to go the other way with things and bizarrely make Jill Biden the scapegoat, which certainly seems very misguided.
