Alex Bregman hit a solo homer to give the Houston Astros a 2-1 lead over the Washington Nationals in Game 6 of the World Series, and carried his bat all the way to first base a la Pedro Cerrano. Well, in the top of the fifth, the Nationals’ Juan Soto matched the move, and with an even more impressive home run.
Soto demolished a Justin Verlander offering for a moonshot go-ahead dinger in the top of the fifth. And, like Bregman, carried the bat to first base.
Soto — who turned 21 less than a week ago — now has the postseason and World Series records for the most home runs by a player 21 or younger.
