Just one day after making his MLB debut, Jarred Kelenic showed why he’s a consensus top-5 prospect in baseball. The Seattle Mariners’ outfielder blasted a two-run homer against the Cleveland Indians on Friday night at T-Mobile Park for his first career hit. And it was a rocket.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Kelenic sent an Aaron Civale offering 409 feet over the right-center field wall. The dinger had an exit velocity of 109.3 mph.

That was smoked.
And he followed it up with a double in his next at-bat while showing off the wheels.

With Kelenic and Kyle Lewis, the Mariners have a very exciting young outfield. And Mariners fans finally have great reason for hope going forward, for a franchise that has the longest postseason drought in North American pro sports.
