We’re only a few days into the 2020 MLB season, but it’s unlikely — especially in a tiny season — we’ll see many plays as good as one Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor made on Saturday against the Kansas City Royals.
In the top of the sixth inning, Kansas City’s Salvador Perez hit a groundball that appeared ticketed for left field. But Lindor ranged to his right several feet into left field, backhanded the ball, and made a great off-balance throw to rob Perez of a hit.
This is an incredible play:
Amazing. You can easily see why the Cleveland superstar has won two Gold Gloves (2016 and 2019) and is one of the best shortstops in baseball.
