The Atlanta Braves are one win away from a World Series title, and they have a 6-0 lead over the Houston Astros in Game 6 thanks to a few big swings by the offense (and great pitching from Max Fried).
We already covered the absolutely incredible Jorge Soler three-run home run that landed over the train tracks in the third inning at Minute Maid Park, and the Braves added another three-run inning in the top of the fifth.
Just like with the Soler homer, the Braves crushed a two-strike homer to silence the Houston crowd. This time, it was Atlanta shortstop Dansby Swanson that cranked a two-run blast to left field, making it a 5-0 Atlanta lead.
Later in the inning, Soler drew a two-out walk, and he came around to score on a Freddie Freeman double that went off the wall in left-center field.
It’s all Braves through five innings. With a win, they’ll have their first World Series title since 1995.
UPDATE: Freeman has come through again, this time with a home run to left-center field.
