A ridiculous brawl broke out on Wednesday night in the Mexican Baseball League during a game between the Toros de Tijuana and Rieleros de Aguascalientes.
After the game had already featured plenty of bickering, all hell broke loose in the eighth inning, when Rieleros pitcher Brandon Quintero hit the Toros’ Gabriel Gutierrez with a fastball.
Gutierrez then charged the mound, throwing his bat and helmet in the direction of Quintero. And then it was bench-clearing madness.
Gutierrez (obviously), Quintero, and Rieleros shortstop Julian Castro were ejected.
You may have noticed the names of two former major leaguers who were also part of the brawl, in the Toros’ Junior Lake and Peter O’Brien.
Oh, and Fernando Rodney — three-time All-Star in the majors, and 2019 World Series champion with the Washington Nationals — got the save in this game for the Toros in a 5-3 victory.
