For the first time since August 2, the Baltimore Orioles have won a game.
Baltimore took down the Los Angeles Angels 10-6 on Wednesday night, and it was even with Shohei Ohtani as the Angels’ starting pitcher.

In a rare off game for the likely AL MVP, Ohtani allowed four earned runs in five innings vs the Orioles, and went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts as the Angels’ leadoff hitter.
And then the Orioles got to the Angels bullpen for six runs, capped off by a five-run eighth inning to take the lead.

The 19-game losing streak was the longest since the 2005 Kansas City Royals also lost 19 in a row, and it’s tied for the seventh-highest losing streak in MLB since 1900. The longest losing streak since 1900 belongs to the 1961 Philadelphia Phillies, who lost 23 straight games (the 1988 Orioles are second with 21 straight losses).
With the victory, the Orioles improve to 39-86 (a .312 winning percentage). For Orioles fans wanting the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft, Baltimore still has a 2.5-game “lead” in that department over the Arizona Diamondbacks (43-85).
