Legendary golfer has strong message for LIV Golf

Golf legend Nick Faldo did not hold back any punches when discussing what he thought of the Greg Norman, Saudi Back LIV Tour.

Several prominent golfers such as Phil Mickelson, Bubba Watson, and Sergio Garcia, all left the PGA Tour to join the LIV Tour mainly for money.

But Faldo believes that the golfers who jumped ship for that tour are finished. Here is what he said about those golfers coming back and competing for the Ryder Cup.

“They’re done,” Faldo said. “It’s a rival tour. If you work for a company for 20 years and you then leave to go to a rival company, I can promise you your picture won’t still be on the wall. You’ve moved on. Fine, off you go.”

Faldo also called the LIV Tour meaningless.

“That tour is meaningless, it really is. It’s a closed shop – 48 guys that got crazy money,” Faldo continued. “What gripes me is it’s not growing the game of golf. That really gets me when they fly across the world and suddenly say, ‘Oh we’re growing the game of golf.’ It’s pretty embarrassing that, at the end of the season, no one was watching.”

Faldo went further than that, he also called out Greg Norman and the ratings for the tour which haven’t exactly been high. Faldo said he had more people watching his golf show than watching the LIV Tour.

“At the end of the season, no one was watching. we got 100,000 people watching the Faldo series streaming.”

And then Sir Nick went for Greg Norman.

“He (Greg Norman) was a great golfer he was a charismatic, exciting golfer. he has absolutely wrecked all of that.”
