LIV Golf

The PGA Tour was disrupted in a major way by the introduction of the LIV Tour, a Saudi-backed league that attracted some of the most prominent players on tour with otherworldly paydays.

The PGA eventually found a coexistence with LIV, allowing players who departed to participate in some of the larger tournaments. However, as of late, players have been leaving LIV to return to the PGA. In fact, LIV as a whole appears to be entering dire straits.

LIV Golf officials have been called to an “emergency meeting” in New York. (Per Front Office Sports) Rumors of it’s collapse have begin to circulate,” reported Polymarket Sports on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Wait, so it turns out that the Saudis can’t just throw infinite money at players and not actually have a watchable product. No way,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Brooks Koepka already left. Bryson’s contract is up. Press conferences canceled. Now an emergency meeting in NYC? The smoke is officially a fire. LIV might not even make it to the first tee in Mexico this weekend,” someone else added.

“Inevitable. I wish this was the case of every company founded on greed and self interest. *cough cough,” another person added.

It’ll be interesting to see where things go from here for LIV.
