It’s no real secret that former United States President Donald Trump is very proud of his name and brand. After all, his last name has been on his hotels, his golf courses, and the majority of his businesses over the years. But unfortunately for Trump, that name will soon be removed from one golf course.
Bally’s Corporation, a casino and entertainment company, has purchased the license to operate the Trump Golf Links at Ferry Point. And according to the New York Times, the first move the company makes will be to remove Trump’s name from the property.
“The new operator is expected to change the name of the golf course to Bally’s Links, according to people familiar with the transfer, removing the giant Trump sign embossed in stone that greets commuters exiting the Whitestone Bridge,” the New York Times reported on Monday.
It’s pretty brutal news for the former president, as his name will no longer be featured on the massive side along the road, and it led to plenty of reactions on social media as a result.
We refer to that course as The Valley of Ashes.

You mean I won't have to see this stupid sign every time I drive to La Guardia or JFK now? Sweet. https://t.co/pVy6YDgTp3

Bally seems to think removing Trump’s name from the course will improve their chances of winning a license, which is probably fair considering that the former president is currently facing 91 felony charges.
