Rory McIlroy drew significant attention at the PGA Championship after a crazy made putt!
McIlroy stared at an attempt to save par from way back off the green. That didn’t faze the two-time PGA Championship winner one bit.
Rory stood in there and hit a ridiculous 36-foot putt to save par!
“There are many ways to save par. @McIlroyRory judged this one perfectly,” the PGA Tour tweeted. Boy, did he ever.
McIlroy is one over par after his first day at the PGA Championship. But he certainly grabbed attention and stole a few headlines with that epic, crazy putt. The sports world reacted to the crazy shot.
“Par save & a beauty,” the PGA Championship account said.
“This was incredible and came at a time where McIlroy HAD to have it,” Peter Burns said.
“This is gonna be a fun tournament with putts like that!” another user tweeted.
“Superb,” another user remarked.
Rory’s shot tracker account called it “the shot that turned everything around today.” They also said, “It was an ‘erratic’ and ‘messy’ day, but an under-the-weather Rory grinded out a 71, and is currently putting in some work on the range.”

It might have been a rough day on the course for him both on the leaderboard and physically. But when he was posed with a tough shot, Rory McIlroy absolutely delivered.
