Brooks Koepka sends brutal message to LIV golfers

Brooks Koepka had a few words to say to those American golfers on the LIV Golf tour who wanted to play for the US Ryder Cup team.

Koepka said if they want to be here the next time around, then they need to play better.

“I don’t make the decisions. It doesn’t — everybody had an opportunity to get there. I mean, I had the same opportunity as every other LIV player, and I’m here.

“Play better. That’s always the answer,” he said, according to ESPN.

Several LIV golfers, especially on the European side, are missing the tournament because of the continued feud between the PGA and LIV Golf. Still, Koepka feels at least for this week, he’s not representing the Saudi-backed LIV Golf; he’s just representing his country.

“I feel like I’m representing the USA,” Koepka said. “That’s what I’ve got on the front of my hat this week, so that’s what I’m representing. It’s not a group of individuals in that locker room. We’re just all one team, and that’s the way we think. That’s what I believe, and I’m pretty sure everybody else there thinks that.”

Despite the merger between the two leagues, there is still some heavy resentment between the two, but at least for now, that can be put away, and the focus can be on just golf.
