Dave Portnoy is one of the biggest sports figures in the greater Boston area, as he’s been one of the most vocal fans of the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, and Boston Red Sox over the years.
Unfortunately, Portnoy made some disturbing comments concerning climate activist Greta Thunberg, who is boarding a ship in the hopes of delivering much-needed aid to Gaza as Israel’s siege on its civilians continues.
“I hope they hit a [expletive], like, a missile on her boat. Knock that boat down. Greta or whatever her name is,” Portnoy said of the situation, according to Pop Crave.
People reacted to the shocking statement on social media.
“zionists are obsessed with seeing children harmed it’s a sickness at this point,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“She’s bringing aid aka food and medicine to people in Gaza, many of whom are children. Just a strange statement to make,” one peson added on Twitter.
“so now he’s publicly wishing death on a 21-year-old bringing aid? rotted to the core,” someone else added.
“Imagine being against supplying aid to starving people,” wrote another person.
Hopefully, Portnoy realizes how uncalled for his statement is and decides to rescind his words, as Gaza is in much need of aid.
