The Texas Longhorns and Arch Manning did not live up to the preseason hype this year. Texas lost three games and was close to losing to both the Kentucky Wildcats and Mississippi State Bulldogs as well, ultimately failing to reach the College Football Playoff.

Manning has decided to return for his senior season rather than enter the NFL draft, where he would still almost certainly be one of the first quarterbacks selected, considering the high praise scouts and executives still have for him despite his up-and-down play throughout the season.

Unfortunately, one of Manning’s top targets will not be coming back to the program with him, according to one prominent outlet.

“Texas WR DeAndre Moore plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Moore totaled 532 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns this season,” reported On3 on Monday.

Ultimately, this move could have a negative impact on Manning’s future draft stock. Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Another solid producer hitting free agency. The portal stays undefeated,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Wish him all the best but tbh I wasn’t blown away by his performance this year. we can portal and/or develop better,” someone else added.

“Somebody tell him the portal ain’t a teleport button to instant superstardom,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see how Manning and the offense look after losing such an important part of their production.
