On Sunday afternoon, the Texas A&M Aggies announced that they were parting ways with head coach Jimbo Fisher after a string of disappointing seasons. And it sounds like iconic ESPN analyst and media personality Stephen A. Smith already has his pick for the perfect replacement for Fisher: Deion Sanders.
During Monday morning’s edition of Get Up on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith made the bold statement that Deion Sanders becoming the next head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies “needs to happen.”
“That’s what I’ve been saying, Deion Sanders in the SEC,” Smith exclaimed. “With that vault that they have available to them. Them hogs that he could recruit. He doesn’t have them at Colorado, and he ain’t going to get them. Deion Sanders.”
“I don’t think they’ll do it. Texas A&M. Primetime, Deion Sanders in the SEC? That needs to happen,” Sanders continued.
It’s a pretty bold demand for Smith, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.
I’d hate it but I can’t deny that it would be incredibly funny if he did this https://t.co/1uq8PgNrfU

Sanders has brought a lot of attention with him since becoming the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes and provided an instant boost to the team’s recruiting. We’ll have to see whether or not Texas A&M approaches him to see if he could do the same thing there.
