Coaching in college football is inherently competitive and while many of the coaches have good relationships based on mutual respect, that isn’t always the case – as demonstrated by South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Shane Beamer this week.
During an appearance on the Bussin With the Boys podcast, Shane Beamer was asked about which coach he would like to fight.
After giving a playful answer at first, Beamer then got quite a bit serious and revealed that there is one particular coach in the SEC that he is “not really high on.”
“My wife and I literally just had that conversation this morning about a team in the SEC,” Beamer said on the Bussin With The Boys podcast. “That goes back to who I would want to fight. There’s one in particular right now that I am not really high on. My wife literally just said ‘we need — this year when we play them — yadda, yadda, yadda.”
Obviously, there’s no way of knowing exactly who Beamer is talking about, but it’s certainly interesting to know that there’s a team in South Carolina’s conference with which Beamer has some bad blood and animosity. We’ll have to see if Beamer ever reveals which team or coach it is.
