Paul Finebaum announced Thursday that his radio show has lost one of its famous callers, Phyllis from Mulga.
Phyllis was a huge Alabama fan and always stood up for her team, especially head football coach Nick Saban.
“With a heavy heart, wishing a final farewell to Phyllis Chapple-Perkins. Known to so many as The Bama Avenger…The First Lady of the Finebaum Show…or, simply, Phyllis from Mulga. An unforgettable force of a woman, she helped define this show as a place where college football fans could profess their passion and defend the honor of their teams- often loudly and always fiercely. She will never be duplicated, and today we hope you’ll call the show and share your favorite memories of Phyllis.”
A lot of Finebaum callers are remembering Phyllis Thursday in their own way and even fans from rival schools are paying their respects to one of his first well-known callers to the Finebaum Show.

As you can tell, even famous people like ESPN’s Laura Rutledge and ABC News’ Chris Connelly paid their respects. Phyllis’s most famous call is when she infamously called out Fox Sports Colin Cowherd with a name that sticks to him to this day after his diss of Saban. The name, which we can’t repeat, went viral across the country and was cheered by thousands. A star was born.
Her real name was Phyllis Chapple-Perkins but she will always be remembered as Phyllis from Mulga.
