SEC Media Days got off to a hot start with ESPN’s Paul Finebaum stirring the pot early with his comments about Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban.

Finebaum said if Georgia 3-peats as champion, it could affect his legacy.

“Nothing is going to take away what he’s accomplished,” Finebaum said. “And for those who don’t follow this closely, he’s won 6 national championships at Alabama since arriving in 2007, he won another one at LSU. But if he is in the same league as somebody who at the end of this season won 3, that’s a big hit on his legacy.”

Going into this season, there is a lot of questions for Alabama, but most college football experts still think they still will contend for a national championship and that Finebaum’s comments were way off, even though he was mostly referring to what would happen to Saban’s legacy if the Georgia Bulldogs were to 3-peated as champions.

Of course, the reaction across social media was basically a swift denouncement of Finebaum’s comments.

Even none Alabama fans thought that what Fineabaum was ridiculous.

But then there are some fans who agreed with Finebaum’s take and think this could be it for Saban.

Despite what Finebaum said, Saban and his team finished with an 11-2 record, ranked fifth in the country with the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation. Doesn’t seem like he’s fallen far to most folks.
