The Clemson Tigers suffered a pretty brutal loss to the Miami Hurricanes this week, marking their second-consecutive loss and third loss of the season. And Paul Finebaum wasted no time in blasting Dabo Swinney afterward.
During an appearance on the ‘The Matt Barrie Show’ this weekend, Paul Finebaum absolutely unloaded on Dabo Swinney and Clemson, declaring that his dynasty “has been over for a while,” and that he’s not even going to be paying attention to Clemson the rest of the year.
“I made some comment a couple weeks ago about ‘Dabo’s dynasty is done’. It was more for an alliteration,” Finebaum said according to On3. “His dynasty is over. It has been over for a while.”
“It’s over. And the rest of the schedule? I don’t even care,” Finebaum said. “Frankly, do you care?”
With Swinney and Clemson’s dynasty declared over, Finebaum now wonders if Swinney can get this program back to an elite level. Finebaum isn’t all that confident it’s going to happen, and he thinks the only person Swinney has to blame for that is himself.
“The concern now is can he ever get it back to an elite level? I think there has to be some doubts,” said Finebaum. “There are a lot of reasons for it. Most of them are when Dabo Swinney looks in the mirror at night.”
They’re pretty harsh words from Finebaum, but based on the state of the Clemson program, they’re probably fair.
