The Texas Longhorns have had a strong week in the transfer portal this week.
On Sunday, Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Isaiah Bond committed to the Longhorns.
On Tuesday, Texas got another weapon at wide receiver, as Oregon State Beavers wide receiver Silas Bolden transferred to Austin to join the Longhorns.
Hayes Fawcett of On3 had the news first.
Primarily a backup and special teams player in his freshman season, Bolden turned into one of Oregon State’s top options on offense. He totaled 80 receptions and 1,076 yards for nine total receiving touchdowns (the above tweet is incorrect), with a career-high 54 receptions, 746 yards, and five touchdowns, all three of which led the 8-5 Beavers.
“I felt like Texas is a great place for me to grow as a player and person. It seemed like home as soon as I stepped on campus and the whole staff was great so that led me to commit,” Bolden told On3.
The Longhorns look poised to make a run back to the College Football Playoff, as head coach Steve Sarkisian recently signed an extension to keep him in Austin for the immediate future, quarterback Quinn Ewers will be returning for his junior season, and the additions of Bond and Bolden will make up for the loss of wide receivers Xavier Worthy and Adonai Mitchell, both of who declared for the NFL Draft.
