O.J. Simpson was a Heisman Trophy winner for the USC Trojans before he was involved in one of the most prominent murder trials in modern history, so it makes sense that he would have some thoughts on the team’s latest high-profile loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Following the team’s lopsided 48-20 loss over the weekend, O.J. Simpson took to social media to give his thoughts on his alma mater’s poor showing.
In a video, the former USC Trojans star running back revealed that he didn’t ever think the team was going to go undefeated due to their struggling defense, and he is quite concerned about that defense going forward.
“I didn’t think SC could go undefeated this year because of their defense. I’m just worried about the teams they got to play in the future because of that defense,” Simpson said in a video he posted on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
Simpson’s criticism of the team caught the attention of the social media world, leading to a lot of reactions.
Simpson might be right to be a little bit concerned as the Trojans still have to face the Oregon Ducks and the Washington Huskies, both of whom have prolific offenses. It will be interesting to see how they fare.
