After a back-and-forth battle between the two powerhouses, the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, 17-14, after scoring a touchdown with just one second remaining on Saturday night.
With just three seconds to go with the ball on the Notre Dame 1-yard line, quarterback Kyle McCord handed the ball off to running back Chip Trayanum who rumbled into the end zone to put the Buckeyes on top.
After a review showed there was one second left on the clock, Notre Dame had one last chance after the kickoff, but the lateral play fell well short Ohio State escaped with the win.
Notre Dame had a chance to put the game away following an Ohio State turnover on downs which gave the Irish the ball with 4:12 to play and a four-point lead. After a pair of first downs, the drive stalled out, leading to the Irish having to punt it back to Notre Dame with 1:26 to play.
Kyle McCord and the Ohio State offense converted a third and long and fourth and long to keep the drive going before getting to 3rd and 19 and finding Egbuka Emeka for a first down that got them to the Notre Dame goal line, where they would ultimately win the game.
Social media was in a frenzy following the walk-off win.
