Defensive back Aaron Scott Jr. is still a year away from playing college football. But on Sunday night, he became a part of the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry.
Scott announced his college decision on Sunday. On a table in front of him were an Ohio State bag and hat as well as a Michigan bag and hat.
At first, Scott grabbed the Buckeyes apparel. But before putting the Ohio State hat on, he put it down on the bag, then set the bag and hat on the ground behind him. The theatrics weren’t done there, though. Scott then grabbed the Michigan apparel, seemingly signaling his plan to play for the Wolverines. Then, Scott opened the bag and pulled out an Ohio State jersey.
There were no more fake outs from there. Scott announced that he was going to the Buckeyes and later confirmed the news on Twitter.
Scott’s unorthodox announcement got people talking.
Scott — a Class of 2024 recruit from Springfield High School in Springfield, Ohio — is a four-star defensive back. But while we won’t see him on the field in The Game until at least 2024, both sides of the rivalry are no doubt well aware of his presence now.
