The Ohio State Buckeyes are constantly competing for the national championship. This season, the only team that’s even seemed capable of beating the Buckeyes has been the Texas Longhorns, and even that game was not as close as the final score indicated.

The reason for Ohio State’s competitiveness year in and year out is the elite level of recruits it attracts. The Bucks have one of the top five recruiting classes just about every year and are able to supplement their elite recruiting in the transfer portal.

This season, Julian Sayin has been the most accurate quarterback in the league, as he targets his elite receivers such as Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate. Sayin isn’t the only dominant quarterback to come through the Woody Hayes Athletic Center, either. Justin Fields and C.J. Stroud are currently taking NFL snaps, and Sayin figures to be the first quarterback selected when he declares for the NFL draft.

However, there have been some questionmarks about whether or not quarterbacks from Ohio State are as good as their numbers indicate, or if they’re simply the beneficiaries of having the top talent in the sport around them, as they tend to struggle at the professional level.

Stroud figured to buck the trend, but after an impressive rookie campaign, he has not looked like the same quarterback in two seasons since, although he still has time to turn it around.

Fields looked like he could be a franchise-caliber quarterback a season ago with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but has since struggled immensely, looking like one of the worst starting quarterbacks in recent memory as the guy for the New York Jets.

Now, Fields’ days as a starter are finished, as Jets head coach Aaron Glenn has pulled the plug on him as the starting quarterback, and it’s hard to imagine he’ll get another opportunity elsewhere with how the bulk of his career has gone up to this point.

The #Jets are making a QB change, going with Tyrod Taylor as Justin Fields goes to the bench. Coach Aaron Glenn insinuated last week this could be coming. Now, he’s informed both parties,” reported NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Monday.

It’ll be interesting to see if Sayin’s game will translate to the next level or if he joins the long list of Ohio State quarterbacks who can’t cut it in the pros.
