The Ohio State Buckeyes have several different color combinations of their standard home and away uniform ranging from their typical threads all the way to their blackout uniform combination. And it appears that this season, the Buckeyes are adding another uniform combination to the mix – gray.
On Friday afternoon, the Ohio State Buckeyes officially announced a new uniform combination after teasing it throughout this month. Ohio State announced that it will be wearing an all-gray uniform combination against the Michigan State Spartans this season, complete with a brand new gray colorway of their iconic home and away jersey.
“Tradition in the threads,” Ohio State Football’s official Twitter account said in a tweet, adding the date “11.11.23,” which is the date the Buckeyes are set to host the Spartans.
It’s a massive anouncement from the team, and it generated plenty of buzz and excitement from the college football community on Twitter as a result.
Ohio State previously wore an all-gray uniform combination during the 2017 season, but it was a special one-off uniform that made use of the “Land of the Wolves” moniker the team used during the 2017 season. This uniform combination is simply a recoloring of their regular home and away jersey.
