After it was announced that the Alabama Crimson Tide had taken the final slot in the College Football Playoff, there was outrage around the country, mainly from Florida State Seminole fans who thought their team got hosed in the process.
The CFP committee said the reason the Noles didn’t make the playoffs was because they are a different team without starting quarterback Jordan Travis.
Travis injured himself in a win over North Alabama and hasn’t played since. Although the team did manage to go undefeated without him, it was quite obvious he was missed especially in the ACC Championship game against the Louisville Cardinals.
And while Nole fans are outraged, some have taken it to a new level. Reports came out late Sunday evening that Alabama head coach Nick Saban is receiving harassing phone calls out of the state of Florida.
Apparently, FSU fans somehow obtained Saban’s phone number and have been using it to harass him.
“I’ve had probably over 250 anonymous callers today, calling me every name in the book, talking about how we shouldn’t be in the playoff,” Saban said at the Tide’s football banquet. “So we still have naysayers out there. We still have players who don’t believe in us.”
“Most of these people are from Florida,” Saban continued. “I don’t know how in the [heck] they got my number, but it is out there.”
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville added his two cents about the incident tweeting “Doxxing and haters that you don’t represent? Sounds familiar.”
Saban didn’t seem to be too upset by the whole thing but it will interesting to see if the public will ever find out who released his number.
