Michigan Wolverines running back Donovan Edwards is in hot water over a since-deleted retweet of a shockingly antisemitic tweet.

“Jewish people will literally tell you that they want you to kill your own and humiliate your women simply because they have children to feed,” the tweet read.
The football world was swift to react in horror:
“Yikes. Embarrassing that this is America in 2022. No room for hate if any kind,” Alex Gleitman wrote.
“UM running back casually retweeting anti-semitism,” noted one fan.

“Donovan Edwards went to West Bloomfield High,” noted Mitch Haba. West Bloomfield is known for its sizable Jewish population.

“This is especially bad considering both the University of Michigan and the high school he went to (West Bloomfield) have significant Jewish populations,” another Twitter user said.
“Not the michigan running back retweeting Anti-semitic ramblings of Kanye West… Yikes,” an Ohio State fan wrote.
Edwards, for his part, attributed the retweet to “a glitch.”
“The retweet was a glitch. I speak for myself. I know what’s in my heart. I am unequivocally against racism, exploitation & oppression in all forms, including stereotyping and trafficking in hate. I have nothing but love for others & I never judge anyone based on race or religion,” Edwards said.
Michigan boasts a Jewish population of 6,500 current students. The Michigan football program has yet to comment on the situation.
