The Michigan Wolverines are looking to get back to the college football playoff this season after missing out last year, just one season removed from winning the national championship.
The Wolverines are excited about what the future has in store for true freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood, the number one overall quarterback recruit in his class. In the first two starts of Underwood’s career, he operated primarily as a passer.
However, on Saturday, Underwood showed off his rushing ability as well. Now, with Michigan gearing up to open conference play against the Nebraska Cornhuskers, we know how the Wolverines plan on ulilizing Underwood moving forward, via one prominent Michigan insider.
“Michigan QB Bryce Underwood has a ‘green light’ to run against Nebraska, says coach Biff Poggi,” reported Alejandro Zuniga on Monday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“That’s when Nebraska has to lay the wood right away and make him not want to run or second guess it. Dawson Merritt or shavers can lay the boom,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Brendan Sorsby was frying Nebraska with his legs, can hope Bryce does the same,” one fan added.
“Can’t wait till Dasan McCullough takes off this dudes head the first drive of the game,” someone else added
It’ll be interesting to see how Underwood plays in his first taste of conference play.
