As the TCU Horned Frogs begin preparation for the College Football Playoff, star quarterback Max Duggan has already made it clear that this will be his last ride with the team.
In a social media post on Monday afternoon, Heisman Trophy finalist Max Duggan announced that he will declare for the NFL Draft following the College Football Playoff run with the TCU Horned Frogs.
“Being a student athlete at TCU has been the greatest experience of my life. It has helped me develop as a football player, earn a degree, and become a better man,” Duggan said in his social media post. “My experiences at TCU and, in turn, Amon G. Carter Stadium, has been filled with great memories, passion and pride. I have learned many lessons through the highs and the lows. I’ve built lifelong relationships that will last forever.”
Duggan did not even begin the 2022 season as TCU’s starting quarterback. He replaced starter Chandler Morris after an injury in the season opener and led the team to an undefeated record during the regular season and earned a spot as a Heisman Trophy finalist. This season, he went 239-of-368 through the air for 3,321 yards, 30 touchdowns and just four interceptions. He also rushed for 555 yards and six scores.
