When people tune in to watch ESPN’s College GameDay, they expect to see some funny signs, a celebrity guest picker, some loud noises made by Pat McAfee, some analysis by Kirk Herbstreit, and most of all, they tune in to see which mascot head Lee Corso is going to wear as he makes his pick for the big game of the day.
However, Corso has been absent from many College GameDay spots this year due to undisclosed health issues. Those absences have been piling up in recent weeks as he hasn’t appeared on the show since Oct. 22, leaving many to wonder if Corso’s days as an iconic member of the studio panel might be done.
As Corso would say, “Not so fast, my friend.” According to host Chris Fowler, Corso will be in Montana this weekend for GameDay as they visit Bozeman before the Montana – Montana State showdown.
That’s great news to the many college football fans who have grown up watching Corso on their TV screens and are hoping to get at least a few more fun moments with him.
It’s unclear what the future holds for Corso and GameDay, especially now that McAfee is in the fold, but for now, the college football world was happy to hear the news that Coach is on the mend and he’ll be back on their TV screens Saturday.
