Quarterback Jalon Daniels left Saturday’s game with an injury, as his Kansas Jayhawks suffered their first loss of the season, falling 38-31 to the TCU Horned Frogs. The severity of the injury is a topic of some debate.
Zac Boyer of the Lawrence Journal-World reported on Tuesday that it was a season-ending injury, saying that the Kansas quarterback “is expected to miss the rest of the season with a Grade 3 separation of his right shoulder, per sources.”

If that is the case, there’s one person who has apparently yet to be informed — Daniels. He saw Boyer’s report and replied with “Sheeesh…That’s News to Me.”
This disagreement caught the attention of a lot of college football fans. While Boyer didn’t have an immediate response (at least not a public one), others did.
Daniels has been a huge part of Kansas’ early-season success. Through the season’s first six games, he’s completed 66.7% of his passes for 1,072 yards with 11 touchdowns and only one interception. He’s also been a big factor in the his team’s s rushing attack. Daniels has 53 carries for 335 yards with five touchdowns.
Kansas will travel to Oklahoma on Saturday. The Sooners are 3-3, having lost each of their last three games, including a humiliating loss to rival Texas in their last game. The Jayhawks will be looking to turn around a rivalry that’s been one-sided throughout its history and particularly in recent years. Oklahoma has defeated Kansas in 17 straight matchups, a streak that started in 2000. The Jayhawks last defeated their Big 12 rivals in 1997.
