Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders had one of the most impressive turnarounds in recent memory with what he was able to do for the Colorado Buffaloes. The Buffs came just short of making the college football playoff and even had the Heisman Trophy winner on the roster in combo defensive back/ wide receiver Travis Hunter.

This season has been a step, or several, in the wrong direction. The Buffaloes are 3-6 on the season, and news has broken that Sanders relieved offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur of play-calling duties after a 53-7 loss to the Utah Utes.

“Colorado football coach Deion Sanders stripped play-calling duties from offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur after the Buffaloes lost at Utah Oct. 25, demoting him to quarterbacks coach before the team got beat again last week against Arizona,” Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today reported.

Unfortunately, the move didn’t exactly pan out, as the Buffs lost their next game 52-17 to the Arizona Wildcats. Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“So basically yall was upset at the wrong person? Everything looked the same except for with Juju. So it’s only one explanation and that is K Salt is not a good quarterback for this system,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Well last game was a disaster also lol…..the change didnt do jack crap….We look so confused in Arizona game Offensively,” one fan added.

“Everybody calm down. It’s probably still gonna be the same offense. You just can’t change the offense 3/4 through the season,it’s something that they already know,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see where the Sanders experiment in Boulder goes from here.
