Earlier this week, Oklahoma Sooners head coach Brent Venables had a pretty brutal message for Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders for the way he has rebuilt his roster, claiming that Sanders “gave guys a bunch of pink slips.” And now, Sanders is clapping back.
On Tuesday morning, Deion Sanders responded to the criticism from Brent Venables, making it clear that he had no intention of debating or giving any substantiative response to any “of these Great coaches that choose to target me.”
“Please read this slowly,” Sanders said in a tweet on Tuesday. “I’ve Never responded to any of these Great coaches that choose to target me or our program here @CUBuffsFootball. I’m Great at walking & talking the talk & if it were truly me I would’ve referenced a LAMBORGHINI. That’s #CoachPrime”
Sanders has certainly taken a lot of heat and criticism in recent months for pushing out a record number of players from his program and replacing them with a record number of players from the transfer portal.
It will be interesting to see how this roster-building strategy works out for Sanders not only this coming year, but in the years to come as he attempts a turnaround at Colorado.
