There has been a lot of talk about Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders and his plans after his sons Shedeur and Shilo move on to the NFL.
Some believe Sanders will move on with his sons once they leave Boulder, but Sanders has a message for those who think he is leaving after next season.
Unless he is fired, Sanders says he is in it for the long run.
“I’m a leader of men, not a follower of men. I’m a father, not a baby daddy. I lead my sons. I don’t follow my sons,” Sanders said in an interview with Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt. “My sons, Travis [Hunter] included, are getting ready to migrate to the NFL. I’m not following them to the NFL.
“I paved the way for my babies. They’re not paving the way for me. So, I plan on being here and being dominant here, because they’re establishing something that we’re going to continue to build on for years to come. And I’m thankful that they’re establishing what they’re establishing,” he added.
Former players have accused Sanders of showing favoritism toward his sons and Travis Hunter, a charge he and his sons have denied, but wild stories continue to come out of the Colorado camp about Sanders. Until he proves to the world that he indeed is a good coach, the speculation will continue.
